• Tactile paving with raised "blister" pattern at the kerb crossing line for visually impaired users
• Flush threshold at the back of the kerb – no lip between the dropped kerb and the driveway level
• Gentle 1:40 to 1:80 footway crossfall – well within Building Regulations Part M guidance (max 1:12) for wheelchair-friendly thresholds
• Wide enough drop – we'll recommend 3m+ so a side-loading wheelchair-accessible vehicle has room

Most bungalow dropped kerb jobs sit within the standard residential scope – same as a typical semi-detached install. The work is highly predictable because bungalow frontages are generous and the kerb units are usually modern concrete.

Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)

If the dropped kerb is part of an accessibility scheme recommended by your Occupational Therapist, you may be eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant from your district council – Worcester City, Malvern Hills, Wychavon (Droitwich, Pershore, Evesham) or Wyre Forest. Driveway behind the kerb

For accessibility-focused installs, resin bound is the standout driveway surface – seamless (no jolting on wheelchair wheels), level, weed-free, and wheelchair-friendly. Pattern imprinted concrete is also excellent. We avoid gravel for active mobility users because the loose surface is awkward with wheels and walking aids.
