Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.
Below are the five questions that come up most frequently across all our services. For the full detailed answer click through to the relevant FAQ page above, or call 01905 412 949 and we'll talk you through it.
1. How much does a new driveway cost in Worcestershire?
Driveway pricing depends on the surface tier: gravel is the entry-level permeable option, tarmac the best-value hard surface, resin bound a premium permeable finish, concrete a long-life specialist, and block paving the premium kerb-appeal pick. All Cathedral Landscapes quotes are written and itemised.
2. Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
Front driveways over 5 m² in England must either use a permeable surface, drain to a permeable area, or have planning permission. Resin, gravel and permeable block paving are exempt by default. See the full driveway FAQ guide for details.
3. How much is a dropped kerb in Worcestershire?
A standard residential dropped kerb install covers traffic management, kerb works, tactile paving and tarmac reinstatement – finished in a few hours on site. Council application fees are paid separately by the homeowner directly to Worcestershire County Council – see the dropped kerb FAQ guide.
4. Which driveway surface lasts the longest?
Reinforced concrete and block paving lead at 30+ years. Resin bound lasts 20–25 years. Tarmac 15–20 years. Gravel 10–15 years between meaningful top-ups.
5. What areas of Worcestershire do you cover?
Worcester, Malvern, Droitwich, Pershore, Upton-upon-Severn, Tenbury Wells, Evesham, Bromsgrove and surrounding villages.
